Digital Communication & Infographics for One Health Advocacy

Introduction

This course explores the intersection of digital communication, data visualization, and public health within a One Health context. Learners will gain skills in designing impactful social media campaigns, creating health infographics, and communicating complex scientific messages to the public. Through real-world case studies and interactive projects, students will build the capacity to promote health awareness in the animal–human–environment interface.

Learning Goals

Learners will understand the principles of One Health and its importance in global health communication, apply digital literacy and visual storytelling in public health campaigns, design social media content and infographics for animal health advocacy, and evaluate digital strategies used in health communication campaigns across ASEAN.

I am a faculty member at the Royal University of Agriculture, Cambodia, with a background in Veterinary Medicine and advanced training in Science and Innovation for One Health. My expertise focuses on integrating science communication, digital design, and public health to improve awareness and action at the animal-human-environment interface. I have designed multiple e-learning courses, created health communication campaigns, and developed visual content for global organizations such as the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH).

With a strong foundation as a medical doctor specializing in general disease consultation and dermal infectious diseases, I began my clinical journey at EK Skin and Laser Clinic in Phnom Penh following my graduation from the University of Health Sciences, Cambodia. After completing my Master's degree at Mae Fah Luang University in Thailand, I continued to advance my expertise at SkinMedics Clinic. Beyond clinical practice, I am passionate about the intersection of human, animal, and environmental health. I have actively contributed to One Health education by co-developing an interdisciplinary course for the Southeast Asia One Health Workforce Academies (SEA OHWA), collaborating closely with professionals from animal and environmental health sectors. This experience reflects my commitment to integrative, cross-sectoral approaches that drive impactful health solutions for our region.

I am a recent graduate in Veterinary Medicine and currently working as a veterinary assistant at Phnom Penh Animal Welfare Society (PPAWS). PPAWS is a full-service veterinary clinic and animal welfare organization that plays a vital role in promoting animal health and well-being in Cambodia. Our clinic’s services not only support the health of pets and stray animals, but also help fund many of PPAWS’ life-changing projects that benefit both animals and the Khmer community. Through my work, I take pride in contributing to the improved well-being of stray cats and dogs in Phnom Penh. I’m passionate about participating in community outreach, health education campaigns, and sharing knowledge on One Health and digital literacy—topics I believe are essential in today’s modern world.
